How to Register a NewsPortal or News Website In India

For last 10 years In am into Digital Publishing, I have worked with 1000s of Online Publishers all Over India , I found there was always a Confusion in Minds of Freelancer Journalists , Social Workers or Writers or Bloggers that if we Start a News Website then , we will not have  same rights or Authority as Print or TV media Enjoys , So To make Digital Journalism a Level Playing Field there are many Recommendations given by Ministry of information and Broadcasting in order to regulate Digital Media .

Government is not in favor of   registration of New Media or Digital Media but at same time govt also wants these media houses to follow basic Journalism ethics which are followed by Print and TV Journalists and their respective platforms.

so Govt Came forward with some Guidelines for Digital News Publishers in a Bid to regulate this Digital News Industry and give this Industry required attention so that , This Industry of Digital News Can generate Millions of Employment opportunity in India . Government has analyzed that this  Digital News Industry will Grow at more speed than Tv or Print so , Govt want to Regularizes its Content Policies and asking and requesting Publishers to follow the rule of Press act , PRB or Television broadcasting guidelines.

Government also asked Publishers to be a Part of ” Self regulating Authority” formed by Experienced Media Professionals and Retired Justice . So Its Basically a Journalists Association , which will have a Separate Body called Self Regulating Authority Formed under guidelines laid down by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Later on Ministry will recognize that Authority based on Guidelines audit.

So here is Complete Legal Process 

1.Register Domain Name

2.Develop Your News website as per guidelines of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

3.Become member of Self- regulating Authority or a Local Journalist Association and get Membership Certificate rom The authority or association.

4.Fi Form Annex 2 with All Necessary Information Here is Copy of Annex 2

5.Send this form to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for Approval and Submission.

6.Register for Udyam Addhar

7.Register for GST as ( Proprietor / Partner/ Director) of a Digital Media Firm.

8.Bank account on Lega Name

9.PAN Card of Firm
